What Is an Inverter Heat Pump HVAC System?

A heat pump is an all-in-one heating and cooling system that uses refrigerant gas to transfer thermal energy between indoor and outdoor air. This allows a single unit to provide both air conditioning and heating from a single space-saving component.

Inverter heat pumps include variable-speed compressors and fans that optimize performance across a wide range of conditions. This enables superior efficiency compared to traditional single-stage systems that run at full blast before shutting off completely.

Benefits of Inverter Technology

Precise Temperature Control and Improved Efficiency

Inverter systems make subtle adjustments to closely maintain a comfortable environment without significant temperature swings. By smoothly ramping up and down, inverter systems consume less energy across most operating hours.

Enhanced Comfort and Extended Equipment Life

The gradual changes in output prevent cold or hot blasts of air. Systems run more quietly, too. Fewer starts and stops, as well as operation at the ideal load, reduce wear and tear.

Add it all up, and inverter heat pump systems can save homeowners 30% to 50% on energy bills compared to outdated units.

Inverter Heat Pumps Save Big on Utility Bills

The superior efficiency of inverter heat pump systems directly translates into serious savings on monthly heating and cooling bills. Just take a look at these impressive numbers:

  • Up to 30% lower electricity usage than conventional heat pumps
  • Around 50% lower than typical electric furnaces or AC units
  • Gas furnaces could use over $800 more fuel per winter

You can expect to save hundreds of dollars each year by upgrading to an inverter heat pump system. Those thinking long-term can anticipate over $15,000 of utility savings across a 20-year lifespan! And if your current system is more than 10 years old, the savings jump even higher due to vast improvements in the latest technology.

Why not request an in-home assessment to receive a custom estimate tailored to the size of your home and the efficiency of your current system?

Federal Tax Credits and Local Rebates Cut Costs Further

Between federal tax incentives, utility rebates, and competitive manufacturer pricing, inverter heat pumps already provide exceptional value. But for a limited time, specific local incentives make now an even better time to upgrade in most areas:

  • Federal tax credits
  • Up to $5,000 instant rebate from BG&E
  • Additional local utility rebates

That means out-of-pocket costs for a complete system replacement using premium equipment from leading brands can be as little as just a few thousand dollars, depending on the size of your home. With all the savings on energy bills, most homeowners recover their initial investment in as little as five years.

Lock in Super Low Pricing With Exceptional Financing

Want in on these incredible savings but need flexible payment options? We offer long-term financing, allowing you to upgrade now and pay over time at today’s all-time low costs, rather than tomorrow’s increased prices. With a new inverter heat pump system, it can pay for itself through energy savings, potentially even coming out cash-flow positive.

Schedule a free at-home assessment and custom quote. There’s no obligation, but it makes sense to act soon while supplies, rebates, and competitive pricing last!

Was able to get a technician to my house within 48 hours of filling out their form, Keondre was great, did a full diagnostic of my heating system and thermostat, identified and explained the problem and was able to get it fixed quickly, would highly recommend them and will be using them again for future HVAC work.

Knowledgeable, friendly, wore shoe covers, got a notification when they were on the way with a map of their location, fixed my furnace during the diagnostic period and explained everything while I watched. (Technician was Sam F.)

Couldn't have been better.

I had an issue with my HVAC vent pipe. Michael went above and beyond to fix it, including diagnosing another issue with my outside water drain. I cannot recommend Complete Climate Services enough!!

Edit:

Michael called me the morning of and sent John to fix my condensate pipe issue. He found so much wrong with how it was previously installed and quickly fixed it so we can have heat in the house. I’m genuinely amazed by how quick they were in doing this, and the boys were very sweet both times coming over. They reduced the price substantially for the hubbub, and I’m no longer freezing in the house!!! Thank you for this!! Much love to you all.

I’m currently freezing in my house. I think it’s around 40 degrees in here, and Zach came on Thursday initially to do a diagnostic, told me the problem was the condensate pipe freezing up, and I tried to fix it completely myself after digging all the ice around the pipes and creating a path to them to discover I couldn’t do the job myself. I called Friday afternoon after trying everything myself with no luck, and I was a bit disappointed to be told they couldn’t come because they were booked all day.

Their Google claims to be have 24/7 emergency service, but here I am freezing my ass off, my pipes likely getting more frozen and damaged as time goes by, all so they can quote me more on THAT damage, too, even after I asked if they’d be able to make time Friday given the storm that’s supposedly coming this weekend and dangerously low temperatures we’ve been experiencing… I don’t know how much they care given the first girl I spoke with wasn’t even in Baltimore but JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA.

I’m giving two stars because at least Zach found the problem and told me what I could
Do. I signed up for their maintenance plan and everything hoping it’d give me some priority, but it didn’t. I think come Monday unless they offer an apology and some price difference for the $1000 I’ve been quoted I’ll be going with someone else, even if it’s more. I just feel very disrespected, and it feels intentional given the circumstances.

Inverter Heat Pump FAQs

If you’re considering an upgrade to an inverter heat pump system, you likely still have some questions. Here are some of the most common questions we hear from interested homeowners:

How Do Dual Fuel Heat Pump Systems Work?

Dual-fuel systems pair an electric heat pump outdoor unit with a propane or natural gas furnace indoor unit. The heat pump handles most heating and cooling needs, but the gas furnace acts as a supplemental heat source on extremely cold days.

This guarantees peak performance and efficiency.

What Temperature Range Can a Heat Pump Maintain?

Properly matched variable-capacity inverter heat pumps can maintain indoor temperatures from 5°F to 75°F year-round. Advanced hyper-heating models from leading brands like Mitsubishi and Fujitsu extend performance from -13°F or lower to +100°F.

What Are the Disadvantages of Heat Pumps?

Early generation heat pumps sometimes struggled to provide sufficient heat on cold winter days or distribute air evenly. Modern inverter-driven designs suffer none of these drawbacks and deliver superior comfort year-round.

What Should a Full Inverter Heat Pump System Cost?

Pricing varies based on equipment, rebates or incentives, and the unique needs of your home. With current deals, you can expect to invest an average of between $4,500 and $9,000, depending on home size and scope.

Many homeowners repay this cost through energy savings in as little as a few years.
